Overview of roll forming process
The roll forming process mainly relies on the plastic movement of materials to roll and process products such as shafts, valve cores, and special fasteners with complex shapes.
Compared with cutting and grinding processes, the roll forming process not only has high production efficiency and saves materials, but also has high product strength and stable quality. This process is especially suitable for processing workpieces with special lengths and short lengths that are difficult to cut. Especially for large-volume products with an annual output of millions of pieces, the roll forming process is most beneficial and has the most considerable economic benefits.
Roll forming is more complex and demanding than thread rolling. The mold design is to design the thread rolling plate into one section or several sections according to the different shapes of the workpiece. It can be a synchronous type or a graded type. When the diameters of the blanks along the axis are the same or basically the same, synchronous roll forming can be used; when the diameters of the blanks along the axis are different and several different diameters need to be rolled, hierarchical roll forming can be used. Generally, it can be rolled in one step, and if the shape is complex, it can be rolled in two steps. Press forming is an advanced processing technology, and its remarkable process characteristics have attracted the attention of the domestic and foreign automobile industries.
