The development frontier of honing technology
With the increasing development of many high-tech products, the types of machining materials are increasing day by day, and the processing difficulty is increasing. It is not only required to extend the service life of the tool as much as possible in mass production, but also requires high durability of the edge layer of the workpiece surface in addition to the requirements of geometric accuracy. The development of honing technology is affected by many factors, such as: pre-processing before honing, characteristics of part materials, part process performance requirements, processing tolerances, and the development trend of continuous miniaturization of parts. These requirements have promoted the rapid development of honing technology in recent years. Because honing has good adaptability, it has become one of the most promising hole processing methods. Honing is a special form of grinding. Its essence is low-speed grinding and it is also a highly efficient finishing method. The outer circumference of the honing head is inlaid with 1 to 18 honing rods with a length of about 1/3 to 3/4 of the hole length. When honing the hole, it rotates and moves back and forth. At the same time, it expands evenly through spring or hydraulic control in the honing head, so the contact area with the hole surface is large and the processing efficiency is high. It has the following processing characteristics:
(1) The honed surface quality is good, and the surface roughness after honing can reach Ra0.8—0.2
(2) High processing accuracy, roundness and cylindricity can reach 0.5μm; axis straightness can reach 1μm.
