A brief discussion on what materials are used for the hydraulic cylinder barrels of quilted pipe manufacturers?
With its simple structure, good process adaptability, and low environmental pollution, hydraulic cylinders have become one of the irreplaceable and important devices in the transmission field. They are used in various fields of the national economy such as automobile manufacturing, power electronics, plastics, machinery, metallurgy, and light industry.
The hydraulic cylinder barrel is mainly composed of a cylinder block, a piston, a piston rod and other components. Not only is the structure of each component carefully designed, but even their materials are specially selected to meet the working characteristics of the hydraulic cylinder barrel.
Let’s talk about the material of the hydraulic cylinder body first. When choosing, you should also consider the system in which the hydraulic cylinder is located. If it is a hydraulic cylinder in a machine tool, the material of the cylinder body is mostly cast iron. When the pressure is greater than 8MPa, it is recommended to replace it with a seamless steel pipe.
For the hydraulic cylinder barrels equipped in construction machinery, 35 steel and 45 steel seamless steel pipes are used as the cylinder material in most cases. When the pressure is high, 27SiMn seamless steel pipes or 45 steel forgings can be used to cope with the pressure.
Secondly, the material of the piston in the hydraulic cylinder barrel has some relationship with its structural form. Generally, the integral piston is mostly made of 35 steel and 45 steel; while the materials of the assembled piston include gray cast iron, aluminum alloy, etc. If necessary, bronze, brass, etc. can be installed on the outside of the steel piston blank.
In the hydraulic cylinder barrel, the piston and matching piston rod work together, so the material of the piston rod is similar to the piston, generally 35 steel and 45 steel. Only when the impact vibration of the hydraulic cylinder barrel is large, alloy materials such as 55 steel or 40Cr will be used.
